A Voluntary Installation can be defined as an installation that is decided upon by the client themselves. We offer the opportunity for individuals to have an ignition interlock installed into their vehicles upon their best reasoning or judgment depending on their situation. Much of the same rules would still apply in the same fashion as the prior two programs. The voluntary participant would be expected to comply with the same standards and monitoring procedures every two months.
Installation of the Interlock: If the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles has recommended the ignition interlock as a condition of your restoration you must call 1-800-521-4246 to schedule an appointment for installation. The interlock must be installed before a license can be granted. You will be given a time and date for the installation You will also be provided any answers to any questions that you may have about the process and specific directions to the service center of your choice.
